Pfc Goldstein was born on July 14 1919 in New York and was killed in 
action on June 10, 1944 during the Airborne invasion of Normandy.

Pfc Goldstein is the son of Morris Goldstein [b.1894 in Russia, came to 
America in 1909 and died unknown] a tailor and the son of Yetta 
Feigenbaum Goldstein [b.1895 in Russia, came to America in 1908 and died 
unknown] 
 
The 1930 US Census for Kings County, Brooklyn, New York shows Norman 
residing at 1574 West 8th St with his parents and sister Beatrice [a/k/a Bessie, 
b. 1913 in New York, married Edward Rosen and died unknown] a 
bookkeeper in a dress shop and a brother Milton [b.1915 in New York and 
died unknown].  The Goldstein's later moved to 1775 Eastburn Ave, Bronx, 
New York.

Pfc Goldstein enlisted in the Army on June 10, 1941  at Fort Jay, Governors 
Island, New York. His enlistment record states Norman had completed 1 
year of high school was 6 feet tall and 143 lbs and was single and employed 
as a truck driver.

During Operation Neptune, June 6, 1944, Pfc Goldstein parachuted from his 
C-47 troop transport plane with Tail#42-32913,  #34 in the Chalk, #7 in line.

Pfc Goldstein was awarded the Purple Heart Medal and the Croix de Guerre 
Unit Citation  [French], the European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign 
Medal with one Bronze Star and Arrowhead, the World War II Victory 
Medal, WWII Honorable Service Lapel Button, Parachute Badge, the 
Combat Infantryman Badge and the Presidential Distinguished Unit 
Emblem.

Pfc Goldstein is interred at the Beth David Cemetery, Elmont, Long Island, 
New York.
